Hunting and Fishing
A mixture of heavy woodlands and abandoned and partially
grown-up farms offer an ideal situation for the maintenance of excellent
populations of both small and big game. For those who prefer bird hunting,
the many areas of small growth around old roads offer prime conditions for both
grouse and good native and flight populations of woodcock. Deer are
present in large numbers mostly because of the combination of cut-over forest
and remaining heavy cover, providing proper habitat for deer in all four
seasons.
Deer Run Sporting Camps are located on beautiful Lake Molunkus.
The lake is 6 1/2 miles long and affords the fishing enthusiast excellent
fishing - both in summer and winter. Salmon, Bass, Brown Trout, and Perch
abound in this northern paradise. Boats and outboard motors are available
for fishing. Small boats equipped with oars and paddle boats are available
for the young set. You can fish right here on the lake within view of your
cabin. A great retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.
